REFLECTIONS

WHAT IS REFLECTIONS?

 Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program for students.

 The Reflection program provides an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to:

​

  • Unleash their creative talents and be inspired.

  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork

  • Experience the joy and fun of making art

  • Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme

  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art

CATEGORIES and DIVISIONS

  • DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY,

  • FILM PRODUCTION,

  • LITERATURE,

  • MUSIC COMPOSITION,

  • PHOTOGRAPHY,

  • VISUAL ARTS

  • Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (K-Grade 2), Intermediate (Grade 3-5), Special Artist (All grades welcome)* See Guidelines for each Category below.

*Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities. Please see here for more information on this Division.

MODE OF SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES 

​

All categories will be uploaded to google drive with a scanned copy of the entry form.

​

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

 

All students submitting an entry to the Wicoff PTA Reflection program MUST have at least one Wicoff PTA member in his/her household. Join the PTA to take advantage of this program.

EVALUATION PROCESS

  • The students submit artwork to their Local PTAs.

  • The work is judged by a panel of volunteer teachers. The winning entries advance to the County level for judging. County level winners proceed to State level and then onto National.

  • Entries will be judged primarily on how well the student uses his or her artistic vision to portray the theme, originality and creativity.

  • All participants are recognized.

  • Awards are given to first, second and third place winners. Awards will be announced according to local and state procedures.

  • National award recipients will be notified via email by National PTA, typically in May.
